Our new benchmark tracks national laws implementing the AI Act, looking into the procedure for adoption and the core provisions.
Of the 21 EU member states surveyed, only Denmark, Finland, Italy and Slovenia have a national AI law already in force. In the case of Finland, an additional bill dedicated only to AI regulatory sandboxes is expected to be tabled before parliament.
Half of the surveyed countries have proposals for laws implementing core provisions of the AI Act. All proposed laws would designate national competent authorities, define their powers, and include provisions on sanctions. This is the case in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.

Scope
