The Digital Networks Act (DNA) foresees a centralised framework for satellite authorisations to strengthen the EU’s strategic autonomy and enhance the single market.
Key elements of the proposal are:
- EU-level authorisation for satellite networks and services and the use of satellite spectrum
- coordinated monitoring and enforcement
- greater coordination on international satellite procedures
- increased focus on pan-European satellite services including direct-to-device (D2D)
Our new report offers an in-depth analysis of the European Commission’s proposed approach to satellite connectivity.
