The Lithuanian telecoms regulator, RRT, proposed not to regulate access to new fibre in white areas where currently no networks capable of providing at least 100 Mbps are available.
RRT notified its draft analysis of the wholesale local access market (M1/2020, WLA) to the European Commission on 17 November 2025.
The European Commission should react to the notified measure by mid-December.
The Commission cannot veto a proposed remedy (or lack thereof). After consulting BEREC, the assembly of European telecoms regulators, the Commission can merely issue a recommendation to amend or withdraw the notified measure.
