Algeria and Morocco announced the results of beauty contests to award 5G licences, with the winners being the existing mobile operators. Egypt announced the launch of 5G services.

The Egyptian regulator forced operators to compensate consumers with free data allowances for a major service outage due to a fire in the Ramses switch office.
