Cullen International has published a new report summarising the main EU policies and regulation relevant to the development of products and services based on artificial intelligence (AI).
The presentation by the European Commission of ethics guidelines for artificial intelligence, scheduled for March 2019, is the next relevant EU policy action on AI.
The main regulatory issues include automated decision-making and profiling, transparency of search results, extra contractual liability for damages caused by AI products, and availability of data. An ethical approach to AI is also being developed.
