National regulatory authorities (NRAs) in several European countries apply margin squeeze tests to reinforce the non-discrimination or price control measures imposed.
Our latest benchmark looks into the key parameters set by NRAs for the ex ante economic replicability test (ERT) in combination with any other forms of margin squeeze (or price squeeze) test (PST) used as a complementary regulatory tool to cost-oriented wholesale price regulation.
Ten countries apply the equally efficient operator (EEO) test, while six countries apply the adjusted EEO.
Four countries (France, Germany, Latvia and Poland) apply the reasonably efficient operator (REO) test.
In Italy, the regulator suspended the replicability test following the structural separation of the access network.
