Key developments on several of the EU’s sustainability files took place in the past three months.
The Commission adopted the first set of European sustainability reporting standards, a proposal to replace the End-of-life vehicles directive, as well as a proposal to revise the Waste framework directive. Co-legislators reached a provisional agreement on new rules to ban misleading advertisements (greenwashing) and provide consumers with better product information.
At global level, a recent UN report says only 15% of the sustainable development goals targets were on track in 2023.
