5G will not only be used by mobile network operators but also by industry networks (so-called verticals), to replace current Wi-Fi networks or for new business models that require wireless connection.
Cullen International's new benchmark shows which countries have allocated spectrum for such use.
Germany was the first country that set aside a part of the 5G pioneer band 3.4–3.8 GHz for local 5G networks. The Czech Republic, Slovenia and Sweden will also reserve a part of this frequency band.
Other countries have similar plans in other frequency bands, for example Finland (a part of the 26 GHz band), France (the unpaired 2.6 GHz band) or United Kingdom (3.8–4.2 GHz).
