On 4 March 2024, the European Commission fined Apple over €1.8bn for an abuse of dominance in the market for the distribution of music streaming apps through the App Store.
This is the third largest antitrust fine ever imposed by the Commission, eclipsed only by the record penalties that Google received in 2017 and 2018.
