France, Sweden and the UK have adopted national strategies on AI in advance of plans by the European Commission to agree an EU-wide AI strategy by the end of 2018.
Many European countries are also considering the ethical implications of AI, but existing regulatory initiatives have tended to focus more on connected cars.
