Smart Energy
Launching in December 2011, the Smart Energy service from Cullen International tracks the rollout and regulation of smart electricity grids and meters in Europe.
By providing objective and reliable benchmarking of developments in the biggest EU markets, the service helps clients from the energy, telecoms and wider ICT sectors to better develop their strategic, institutional and regulatory activities.
The EU has set a deadline requiring member states to roll out smart meters covering a minimum of 80% of all consumers by 2020, but deployments are still at a very early stage in most countries.
The Smart Energy service from Cullen International gauges smart grid and smart meter national deployment plans, minimum functional requirements, smart meter costs, liberalisation of the metering market, details of privacy and security issues and other regulatory topics.
The service initially covers the five largest European markets – France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
