New Cullen International intelligence service cuts through complexity of EU competition law

Cullen International, the leading provider of regulatory intelligence services, today launched a new Competition Law service. This information service provides timely updates, analysis and monitoring of competition law developments, as well as a reference database of key competition law cases across the European communications sectors.

The Cullen International service covers national cases from the EU 28 in English, as well as the more widely reported EU level cases, and links those cases by theme and country in a structured database. As a result, clients can easily track and review all of the cases relevant to their sector and interests, providing summaries of the key elements and findings of each case.

Cullen International’s research tracks cases from each national and regional authorities to uncover the key communications sector decisions, helping clients to save time and stay informed. In Spain, for instance, as well as the national competition authority, there are eight regional authorities with decision making powers, making it hard to maintain a thorough grasp on developments. For mergers, which are highly topical at a time of consolidation particularly in the telecoms sector, Cullen International’s service links related cases, allowing clients to easily track any emerging trends in the undertakings required by national authorities and by the European Commission.

“As with all of our services, Cullen International’s aim is to provide clients with the right level of detailed analysis, clarifying the complex and summarising the key points in a straightforward way. With our new Competition Law service and database, we will provide a cross-sectoral overview of relevant case law, drawing out the key themes and trends across national and EU level cases”, said Philippe Defraigne, Director at Cullen International.
